The Nanaimo Minor Softball Association is a non-profit organization that is run by dedicated volunteers from the community. Our organization focuses on endorsing the game of softball by promoting fair play and teamwork. The most important thing is to have fun! The executives, coaches and parents all strive to make this organization achieve success.

 

2020 Registration is now Open!

Nanaimo Minor Softball Association is excited to announce that registration is open for the 2020 season! Register early to ensure your spot on a team, registration closes Sunday March 22!

Remember to Volunteer as a Coach or General Volunteer during the registration process. NMSA is entirely volunteer driven, each year NMSA is successful due to a small number of volunteers, and we need you!

What’s New


Umpire Clinic Rescheduled

The Umpire Clinic has been rescheduled to March 28 in Ladysmith from 9-5 at the Agricultural Hall by Aggie Fields. NMSA will pay the clinic fees for the first 10 umpires, no experience needed. Anyone 12+, players, non-players, adults are all welcome – earn $30 for level 1 umpires and $35 for level 2+ per game! Contact the Umpire in Chief for more information uic@nanaimosoftball.ca

2020 Activities are Underway!

Registration is well underway, sign up online by the March 22nd close date to ensure your spot on a team! Visit http://nanaimosoftball.ca for registration information. Drop in pitching practice on Sundays from 1pm to 3pm at the Beban Centennial building has been active already! Come join us! We also have some available time at the Centennial if any players and coaches are interested in drop in time, contact volunteer@nanaimosoftball.ca for more information. Umpires and anybody interested in earning $30-35 a game, the only District 2 training session this year is in Nanoose on Feb 16, contact uic@nanaimosoftball.ca for more information.

Become an Umpire!

NMSA is looking for up to 10 umpires for the 2020 season! If you or somebody you know are 12 years and older and would like to earn $30 a game week night evenings and for a couple weekend tournaments April through June as your schedule allows contact our Umpire in Chief at uic@nanaimosoftball.ca for more information. No experience necessary, current players, non-players and adults are all welcome! NMSA will cover training fees. Umpire courses begin soon!

Winter Drop in Pitching Practice

Come join us every Sunday January through March from 1pm to 3pm for pre-season pitching sessions at the Beban Centennial Building. The session is open to all players and coaches U10+ who would like to learn to pitch or tune up their skills for the start of the April softball season. Bring someone to catch for each player so pitchers can maximize their time. Sessions start January 5th, no fees! See you there!

Christmas Break Softball Camp Reminder

We’re getting ready for the camp and hope to see you all there! Please bring batting helmets, gloves and runners to be ready to play. To help us organize sessions, please reply if your players are interested in pitching and/or catching during the camp. Registration: $10 per player for 2 days at the door on the first day, please bring cash or cheque. Board Meeting

The next NMSA Board meeting is Monday February 17, 2019 at 6:00pm. Board meetings are located in the lower meeting room at the Beban field house and are open to all members.
